Emma Stone and Yorgos Lanthimos on 'Poor Things' and Taylor Swift Jokes

Emma Stone and Yorgos Lanthimos are back together for the first time since their Oscar-winning collaboration on 'The Favourite'.
Their new film, 'Poor Things', is a darkly comic tale about a young woman (Stone) who is brought back to life by a mad scientist (Lanthimos).
In a recent interview, Stone and Lanthimos talked about their working relationship and their approach to the material.
"Yorgos is a very unique filmmaker," Stone said. "He has a very specific vision, but he's also very open to collaboration. He's always willing to listen to your ideas and to try new things."
Lanthimos said that he was drawn to Stone's "intelligence and wit."
"She's a very smart actress and she's always looking for ways to challenge herself," he said. "I think she's one of the best actresses of her generation."
In the interview, Stone also joked about Lanthimos's love of Taylor Swift. "Yorgos is a huge Taylor Swift fan," Stone said. "He's always blasting her music on set."
Lanthimos laughed and admitted that he is a big fan of Swift's music. "I think she's a brilliant songwriter," he said. "Her songs are so catchy and they always have a great message."
'Poor Things' is set to be released in theaters on October 7, 2022.
