Nerlens Noel Injury

Nerlens Noel Out Indefinitely With Concussion

Oklahoma City Thunder Center Suffers Injury in Fall

Noel's Status for Remainder of Season in Doubt

Oklahoma City Thunder center Nerlens Noel suffered a concussion in a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night and is out indefinitely, the team announced Wednesday. Noel was injured in the final minutes of the game when he was hit in the head by an elbow from Timberwolves forward Andrew Wiggins.

The Thunder said in a statement that Noel is "undergoing further evaluation" and there is no timetable for his return. The injury is a major blow to the Thunder, who are already without several key players, including Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Josh Giddey, and Chet Holmgren.

Noel has been a key part of the Thunder's rotation this season, averaging 7.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. He has also been one of the team's best defenders, averaging 1.5 blocks per game.

The Thunder are now 2-8 this season and are in last place in the Western Conference. The team will be hoping to get Noel back soon, but there is no guarantee that he will be able to return this season.
