51 Million Cars Face Airbag Recall Over Faulty Inflators

As many as 51 million cars could be subject to an industry-wide airbag recall due to faulty inflators produced by ARC Automotive Inc. Regulators have taken steps to enforce the recall, which could impact vehicles from at least a dozen manufacturers.

Affected Vehicles and Manufacturers

The affected airbags have been used by major car manufacturers such as BMW, Ford, Volkswagen, and General Motors. Authorities have identified 49 million vehicles in the US alone that are likely to be included in the recall. The total number of affected vehicles worldwide could reach 51 million.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is expected to announce the official recall shortly. Vehicle owners are advised to check with their manufacturers for updates and potential recall notices.
